Guest Assistant
Emursive Productions, the producing company behind Sleep No More and Speakeasy Magick is seeking Guest Assistants to work on their newest production Life And Trust. The Guest Assistant (GA) is responsible for assisting guests and fielding questions while they are immersed in the show, helping to facilitate communication between performers and stage management, and looking out for the well-being of both guests and in-show staff members. The GA must be a team player, detail oriented, be able to think quickly, have strong interpersonal skills, and remain calm in stressful situations. The GA must work with stage management, front of house, and production departments to ensure a smooth and safe performance while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
We are seeking someone who is a true self-starter, a multi-tasker, and someone able to prioritize responsibilities. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, possess and exhibit empathy, exude a good sense of humor, and a track record of on-their-feet problem solving. Candidates must be proactive and possess clear communication skills and the ability to be a team player.

Schedule: Up to 28 hours/week (show schedule varies)

November 27th, 29th & 30th
December 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th & 30th
Responsibilities:
- Follow performance tracks as assigned.
- Provide an inclusive, high quality experience for guests from a diversity of backgrounds.
- Answer guest questions in a polite, concise manner.
- Be aware of and enforce appropriate guest code of conduct.
- Must be aware of, and follow, the proper procedures for assisting guests with disabilities.
- Attend pre-show meetings and other training as required by management.
- Communicate with the front of house and guest relations staff as relates to audience needs.
- Communicate with the SM team in regards to production and performance related matters.
- Be able to respond to guest and staff injuries and first aid needs.
- Observe the performance and report any misconduct or concerns.
- Pass on messages from performers to stage management.
- Guard back of house and performance spaces.
- In the event of an evacuation, help evacuate the building according to established protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in guest relations, front of house, or customer service.
- Possess excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Must be able to move quickly and inconspicuously through the space for 3+ hours.
- Ability to stand for varying periods of time.
- Upon hiring you will be required to complete certification in fireguard training, first aid training, and CPR certification.
- Theatrical experience is a plus.
- Ability to be Fire Guard certified (materials for certification will be provided & reimbursement)
Environmental Factors:
*Can complete responsibilities and duties under the following conditions*
- Strobing lights
- Continuous, large quantities of haze
- Minimal to no lighting
- Required masks worn by all employees during performance
- Traveling over 6 stories of building via stairwells
Rate:
- $22/hr, Part Time Position
